The Press and Communication Department is responsible for developing contacts with the local, foreign and French media in the Southwest of the United States and for promoting the image of France in the press. Its services are available to journalists who wish to have information about France.
In order to make France’s position on different issues known and with a view towards mutual understanding, the Press Department provides official speeches and statements of the French government to all the media in Southwest of the United States. If you wish to receive copies of these texts, please contact the Press Department or visit the website of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. The Press Department also organises meetings and interviews with journalists as well as press conferences for official visits. It helps to publicize French events organised in the Southwest of the United States in the local press.
To support its goals and to promote the image of France, the Press Department strives to develop contacts with editors-in-chief and their editorial teams. Local journalists are invited to France as part of a program implemented by the Communication and Spokeperson Department of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Last but not least, the Press and Communication Department manages the website of the French Consulate General and the social networks pages, and coordinates the different departments in order to update the communication tools daily.
